An exciting new weekend market at Waterlea offers something for the whole family – from fresh produce to handcrafted clothing and fun for the kids.
The Walloon Markets are on the first Sunday of every month from 8am to 11am, with the next event on February 2 at 62 Rohl Road.
With face painting for the children, coffee and a charity-run sausage sizzle on offer, they promise an entertaining start to the day for all ages.
Get along to meet your neighbours and residents of the wider Walloon region while taking in our beautiful surrounds and enjoying a little local bargain hunting.
When the shopping is done, why not stay on to make a full day out for the family by exploring two great playgrounds nearby in Captain John Rea Park and the Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park?
Well over 30 stallholders are already registered for the February event, offering a wide selection of items, including handcrafted candles, jewellery, clothing as well as essential oils, soaps, honey, and home-made preserves, jams and pickles.
Organiser Chantel Jackson hopes to grow the markets substantially within the next few months.
“I intend to move into Waterlea and this is one way in which I can help it continue to evolve into a fantastic place to live,” Miss Jackson said.
